What is This!

I was chilling on the sofa one evening when this shiny, gold thing caught my eye. I jumped down and started barking at it. Mom has been painting and moving stuff around, so she must have forgotten she put it there. Anyway, when I saw it, I freaked out, man! Mom started laughing because I was making such a fuss. She finally convinced me that it wasn't going to get me. She said it was a bookend...whatever that is. Cautiously, I took a sniff. It didn't move, didn't smell good and it didn't jump at me. Nope, it wasn't a frog....Well, I thought, that's no fun! So, I got back on the sofa and finished my nap.

My Peeps

This is that goofy cat, Princeton. He's getting big, huh? Well, I don't care how big he gets, he'll never get the best of me! I AM the King aroung here.....he's just a pussycat prince and if he knows what's good for him, he won't forget it!

Mom sure had a tight grip on my chin. I really was trying to be still. Anyway, don't you think we make a lovely pair? I love my Mom and she loves me too. Sometimes she calls me 'Pupper' or 'Bubba'. I think those are nicknames, but when she calles me a little *--#-!--*, I don't think that's a nick name. I think that means I'm in trouble!

My New Friend

This is Lucky. He was running around the neighborhood with a hurt front paw. We called him Hop-a-Long at first. It just so happened that his vet is the same one that we got Princeton ( that goofy cat) from. Mom called so we could find his people. The lady at the vet's office said he was a 'runner' and had escaped another time. I guess his people didn't want him back because they never called back. I liked him...we had fun running around the yard together. He could run fast, even on three legs.
I don't know why Mom didn't want to keep him, but she was going to take him to a shelter this weekend. Lucky's paw must have gotten better because he dug under the gate and split, man!
It had rained and the ground was wet and soft, so the big guy had no trouble digging a big hole. It was full of rain water after he left. Who says dogs aren't smart!
I was so sad when I went to the back door to see him...and he was gone! I rang my bell so Mom would let me outside. She made me stay in until the hole could be fixed. She probably thinks I would run too. I just wanted to find Lucky!
Oh well, Now I guess I'll have to play with that goofy cat!

I Can Dig It, Man!

Digging holes is hard work! Just when I was making some headway, Mom came out and made me go inside. She's soooo afraid I might get dirty. Hurmph!
